General information of avocado
Avocado is a tropical fruit, originating from Mexico and Central America, introduced to Vietnam in the 40s of the last century. Currently, avocado is grown mainly in some provinces of the Central Highlands thanks to suitable soil and climate such as Lam Dong and Dak Lak. In addition, avocado is also grown in some provinces in the Southeast and the North, but the yield is not high.

Avocado brings high economic benefits to farmers thanks to strong domestic consumption and export. Thanks to its versatility, avocado is considered a key ingredient in the economic development strategy of the Central Highlands.
However, in order to ensure the supply of raw avocado, the avocado season is also a factor that cannot be ignored. Usually divided into two avocado seasons:
- Avocado season from February to July: this is the harvest period of avocado 034, long and thin-skinned avocado with golden brown rice and high viscosity
Longer avocado will have more flesh and smaller seeds
- Avocado season from August to December: this is the harvesting period of round avocados, also known as Booth avocados, with thick skin, golden rice and special, delicious plasticity.

Regardless of the stage of the harvest, avocados are a super fruit packed with nutritious and healthy ingredients. In the nutritional composition of avocado, in addition to 14 vitamins and minerals, avocado contains a lot of folate which is good for the health of pregnant women and children. In addition, avocado also contains a lot of potassium and substances that fight cancer-causing agents and have anti-inflammatory effects.
